EdSITEment
http://edsitement.neh.gov/
GRADE LEVEL: 9-12

CONTENT:
EdSITEment provides links to twenty online humanities learning guides as well as links to outside humanities Web sites.

AESTHETICS:
The site uses a smaller font for its mainly text-based pages. Some graphics, as well as spacing, are used to break up the passages. This makes the site easier to read.

ORGANIZATION:
All sections of the site are listed on the home page and on the menu on each subsequent page. Users can navigate within the site quite easily.

REVIEW:
This is a Web site for educators or anyone interested in such humanities topics as literature, art history, foreign languages, and history. The site is also geared toward children and educating them about culture. It is set up with links to resources for each of these topics. A highlight of this Web site is the "featured site" area, where one site is showcased every month. The featured topic is discussed and sections of additional information are created to provide teachers, students, and parents each with appropriate resources for further exploration. Teachers are given lesson plans, students have games or quizzes, and the parents section contains thought-provoking questions to spark discussion. The feature area also has information on how the topic relates to today's issues. The learning guides presented at the site are designed to help high school educators share information found at the site with students and their families. Included are lesson plans that utilize site resources. This is a specialized site that would be a good resource for humanities teachers and students.
