REVIEW:
Through the use of interactive stories and games, this site teaches students about what causes an infection, how to detect it, and how to prevent it. Meet the Microbes defines bacteria, viruses, and protozoa. The section Infection! includes a game in which the user becomes the germ and travels through the body. Other interactive stories and games, such as Bacteria in the Cafeteria, How Lou Got the Flu, and the Mixed-Up Microbe Mystery, give students a good understanding of how germs spread. The site also includes tips on how to avoid infectious diseases and an interactive activity for learning more about early microbe discoveries.
