REVIEW:
The Global Online Adventure Learning Site brings real-life adventure into the classroom. Teams of explorers periodically post updates of their journeys. Not all projects run consecutively. Each GOALS adventure has a registry for posting comments and questions to the explorers. Users can also sign up to receive notification when expeditions begin. The Pedal for the Planet Expedition chronicles one explorer's attempt to circumnavigate the world in a pedal boat. It includes Classroom Expedition, where users will find lesson plans and classroom activities, and updates on the journey. In one activity, the Ecological Footprint Analysis, students measure the changes their actions make on the environment. The data is entered in an online form, and the results are posted for all to study.
