This educational and entertaining site provides at-a-glance comparisons of all fifty of the United States of America plus basic information and other demographics.
SITE DESIGN
The site has a user-friendly format with the navigation menu in the left sidebar. Internal pages have advertisements that are not necessarily educational links.

 

REVIEW
Top 50 States provides teachers and students a wealth of information and resources on each of the fifty states of the U.S. that is presented in a simple, reader-friendly format. Users can compare the states based on demographic features such as land area, economy, population, average life expectancy and more. Students looking for help with their homework can easily find information about a particular state in the basics section which includes postal abbreviations, state capitals, largest cities, state name origins and state nicknames or learn about the geography of the state such as acres of farmland, crops, minerals, and energy or look in the question and answer section for answers to their particular questions. Included are quizzes, songs, printables, and a just for fun section. Teachers will find information to supplement their curriculum such as pictures of all state symbols, a list of state governors and senators, economic information, landmarks, natural wonders, activities in each state, holiday clipart and much more. .
