REVIEW:
This is a very cool site for kids ages 9-12 to learn how to eat well and get active. What kid wouldn’t enjoy learning to make Blood and Guts soup, Monkey Brain Stew, or Dirt Bowl Dessert? These are just a few of the recipes that are available in the Recipe Roundup. Children are encouraged to be active with “Wet Head” games that can be played alone or with friends, outside or inside; “Move Mixer” that offers dance moves; “Scavenger Hunt” calls upon their energy to race against time on a hunt through the house; and “Inner G” helps them learn about how the body works. There is a special section for parents that offers resources for helping children develop healthy habits such as expert advice, articles on fitness, food, health, and happiness, and a “Real Life Guide for Parents.” This parent guide, along with a lesson-based curriculum guide for educators, can be downloaded at http://www.ific.org/kidnetic
