REVIEW:
Shodor Education Foundation, with the support of the National Science Foundation, offers a collection of resources to help students and teachers with learning and teaching about math and science. The resources are grouped into two categories: Learners and Instructors. Learners will find many interactive activities that cover mathematics areas such as number and operations, geometry, algebra, probability, statistics, and others. There is also a dictionary of terms used on the site and a set of tools that can be used as stand-alone applications in analyzing and organizing numbers and data. The section for instructors includes many standards-based lessons that are grouped by subject and labeled by appropriate grade level. The discussions provide background material written as a dialogue that leads students to understandings of concepts, vocabulary, formulas, and structure. Included are the NTCM standards and the correlating activities that address them. |
