REVIEW:
Take your students on a tour of the Vatican Museums without leaving the classroom. These five hundred year old art collections are visited by more than three million people a year and this site has put them at the fingertips of many more. Online visitors can now explore the Sistine Chapel, the Gregorian Egyptian and Etruscan Museums, the Pinacoteca, and Ethnological Missionary Museum through high quality photographs and 360 degree tours. Visitors to the site can view each of the museum’s rooms and the contents in detail by following the menu on the main page. A brief history of the museum is given as well as a summary of each room and each artifact. A virtual 360 degree tour of each room is also available for viewing the objects in context. For example, one may visit the Sistine Chapel by taking the virtual 360 degree tour to see the whole picture and then go back and study each of the frescos in detail.
