REVIEW:
This curriculum provides hundreds of interdisciplinary activities that focus on fostering critical thinking skills and practicing lifelong decision making. The lessons can be easily integrated into the existing curriculum and can be adapted and enhanced according to subject matter. Unit topics include blood, bones, the brain, cardiovascular system, diabetes, mobility, health careers, hearing, nutrition, obesity, oral health, the pulmonary system, sleep issues, vision, and more. The teacher resource section includes PowerPoint presentations, rubric/evaluation information, teacher adaptations, concept maps, and links to educational standards and related Web sites. Additionally, the student resources include a Flash animation about the anatomy of breathing, an interactive research graphic organizer, and more. |
