REVIEW:
Visual Fractions is a great resource for teachers to supplement
the math curriculum in the classroom. Students may find it easier
to understand all about fractions through the use of these models.
Most of the programs include both number lines and circle versions.
Young students may want to begin by working through the programs
in the Identify category before moving on to the more complex operations
such as renaming, comparing, adding, subtracting, multiplying and
dividing fractions. As students work through the sections they are
given a score for each set of operations they have performed. Teachers
may want students to click on the “Report” button when
finishing a program. This gives students a page to enter their names
and submit it to receive a printable report card that can be turned
in to the teacher for progress monitoring.
