REVIEW:
Activity Village has been designed to "amuse, educate, and stimulate
your children." Parents will find lots of useful, fun activities
here, and teachers will also find the site valuable. There is a free
newsletter that will inform you through email of new additions to
the site. The homepage of the site lists new offerings on the right
hand side of the page and all areas of the site are accessible from
buttons on the left. The site is divided into areas that offer coloring
pages, puzzles, holiday and seasonal activities, and craft patterns.
These areas are then divided into manageable groupings -- Fall, Snowflakes,
and Easter pages are examples of the groupings. The actual pages are
downloaded with Adobe Acrobat and can then be easily printed. Also
available is a section called Printables.
These printables include calendars, bookmarks, alphabet strips, wrapping
paper and many other useful printable pages. Access to a color printer
is recommended since the pages include colorful graphics and colored
text. The Educational
pages of the site offer additional activities and worksheets for young
students and miscellaneous printable resources such as planning calendars,
graphic organizers, and motivational materials. This site offers a
wealth of valuable free resources. However, the site also offers a
few items for sale -- game boards, scrapbooking or wrapping paper,
posters, and greeting cards. |
