Kids Online Magazine
Creative magazine for and BY kids!
Grade Level: Pre-K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12

http://www.kidsonlinemagazine.com

CONTENT:
Kids Online Magazine is aimed at motivating children to be more enthusiastic about writing. It is a place where children can share their writing and artwork with others around the world.
AESTHETICS:
The site is well designed, cute, colorful, and user-friendly.
ORGANIZATION:
Kids Online Magazine is well organized and easily navigated. Signposts on the left side of the page give access to the various sections of the site, including a Table of Contents. Featured stories are linked on the main page and archived stories are grouped into categories and listed in the table of contents. There is also a handy onsite search tool.
REVIEW:
Just like any magazine, this online version written entirely by kids, displays a variety of articles, stories, recipes, crafts, and artwork from children up to the age of 18. It enables kids to share their work, learn from each other, and feel a sense of pride and achievement in seeing their work published. Students can send in their original artwork as well as their writing and have it posted to the virtual refrigerator for the world to see. One child currently has an animation on the site! The magazine features advertisements, but the difference is, students write these ads. Students have been very creative at either poking fun at an existing product or making up their own silly product. Included are writing tips for students (be sure to check out Ode to a Spell Checker) and a page for teachers that includes directions for submitting classwork.
