 Site Review: InMath

Share

Site URL:  InMath.com

Content:  Here you’ll find tutorials for nearly every secondary math discipline out there.

InMathDesign: Talk about utilitarian—this site is nothing much to look at. Stark blues, blacks and whites mesh together in a way that makes it difficult to tell where the content ends and the advertisements begin. There is very little in the way of images, giving the site a very sterile vibe.

Esthetics notwithstanding, the site groups the various math disciplines logically by theme. The navigation is easy enough, and the tutorials follow a simple vertical layout.

Review:  While InMath is nothing special in terms of design, the site’s content makes up for it. The tutorials take math concepts and break them down in an easy-to-follow, step-by-step manner. Concepts that students my find difficult—such as solving equations in the basic Algebra area—are presented in a way that takes the mystery out of the subject.

Teachers can use InMath to streamline their lessons. The site is also a good tool for helping educators explain math concepts. In addition, students can use the tutorials to supplement their daily lessons.

Bottom Line: Despite some site-design challenges, whether you’re a teacher or a student, InMath has something useful for you.
