"Either-Or" is sometimes called the "false dilemma," which suppresses, or hides, other alternatives.

 

"Either you support our government's policies, or you support our enemies."

 

The Fact Is: In American democracy, you are free to criticize your government's policies. That is the essence of free speech. In this case, the "suppressed alternative" might be that you believe a different policy would be more effective against the nation's enemies.
