This site is presented by the U.S. Centennial of Flight Commission to commemorate
the historic Wright Brothers' flight of 1903. It contains a comprehensive selection
of essays, multimedia materials, and links dealing with the history of flight. |

REVIEW:
This site contains a wealth of information and resources on the history of flight.
It was developed to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Wright Brothers'
flight on December 17, 1903. Essays, multimedia materials, and background information allows
"students of all ages to examine how our world has changed as a result" of this
historic flight. In the section for kids, students can view or download movies of the Wrights' flying machines. They can also play games and find information on many of the different Wright flyers. Educators will find
additional background information and resources, as well as a section on sights and sounds that can be
used in the classroom. |
